Tour Itinerary

Once we have departed, we will make our way over to the Canadian sector of the D-Day landing beaches. Listed below are the locations you will experience on this tour.

St Aubin Sur Mer

This seaside town is made up of many narrow streets and has impressive high sea walls. This is the landing site given to the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment and tanks of Fort Gary Horse. We will explain the strategy behind the assault and how the Canadian's triumphed. Here we will show some fantastic memorials and the remaining german bunker defences.

Bernieres Sur Mer

Bernieres Sur Mer is the location where The Queens own Rifles of Canada landed. The first combat assault waves suffered terribly. We will discuss the German defences at this location, the reason why the Canadian's suffered so many casualties and how they finally made movement in land.

Courseulles Sur Mer

At this location, you will hear about the Regina Rifles and Winnipeg Rifles. The is more evidence of  German bunkers to explore and also a Sherman DD tank recovered from the harbour.

Lunch Stop (not included in the tour price)

We will stop in courseulles for lunch. There are many cafes you can choose from and we will stop for around 45 minutes.

Juno Beach Centre

You will have the opportunity to visit the only museum dedicated to Canadian's in Normandy.

Please note that we stop here for 60 minutes. Rest rooms are available at this location. Entrance fee is not included in the price of the tour.

Graye Sur Mer

The exit at Graye Sur Mer was used as one of the exit points by Canadian troops after finally overcoming the German defences. Here you will hear the story of 1 Charlie (shown in the photo above).

Beny Sur Mer Canadian Cemetery

A beautiful location which is the final resting place for over 2000 Canadian servicemen killed in the battle of Normandy

Abbaye d'ardennes

We will stop and explain the actions of the 12th SS Hitler Youth Division. Many Canadian's were executed at the Abbey d'ardennes.

Bretteville l’Orgueilleuse

To conclude the tour, we will move through the small villages or Rots and Bretteville to show you many then and now photos and to explain the victories the Canadian's had over the 12th SS Hitler Youth Division.

Things to consider

We want you to have a fantastic experience so please bear these in mind when preparing for your tour:

The weather can be unpredictable in Normandy so dress in layers.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Gratuities are welcomed.

One last thing!

If you decide to take a tour with us, we will be over the moon. However, even if you don't and decide to choose another company, we are still grateful. Without you, Normandy as a whole would suffer so thank you, thank you, thank you!
