Dubbed the "City of a hundred spires", Rouen is renowned for having the highest spire in France. Completed in 1876, the 490 ft high spire dominates the skyline over this beautiful city. The city which is the capital of Normandy.

We will start the private guide tour of Rouen with a visit to the magnificent Cathedral. Claude Monet created a series of paintings between 1892 and 1893. When you see the incredible architecture, you will understand why Monet was so mesmerized by it.

Next, we will move on to Saint Romain street and discover the ancient part of the city. The narrow cobbled streets with their timber framed houses will transport you back in time.

As we wander through the old streets of Rouen, we will eventually arrive at the Palais de justice. This impressive building was once the parliament of Normandy. The guide will explain the history of the building and the important role it played in Normandy.

As we move deeper into the heart of Rouen, you will discover the great clock. This astronomic clock lays on a Renaissance arch spanning the busy street of rue du Gros-Horloge. This landmark is between a Gothic belfry dating back to the 14th century.

The last stop before you take some free time to have lunch will be the old market place. Here you will hear the story of Joan of Arc who was burned at the stake. We will show you the location where this took place and explain the significance of the role Joan of Arc played in the history of France.

At this point in the tour, you will be given free time to explore and have lunch. After lunch, we will reboard the vehicle and make the journey over to Giverny where you will be able to explore the wonderful Monet's Gardens.

Once we arrive, the guide will give you a detailed explanation of Monet's Gardens and then you will have free time for a visit. Please note that the price of entry to the gardens in not included in the price of the tour.
